What To Expect

Basque Gastronomic Culture

There is only one place in the world where you will find Idiazabal Cheese and it is in the Basque Country. In this San Sebastian cheese tour you will learn everything about this cheese and the Basque Latxa Sheep used to make it.

 

The Idiazabal cheese is made from unpasteurised sheep´s raw milk and it is possible one of the most traditional and historic food products of Basque Country. The texture tends to be dry-hard (like Manchego) and smokey.

Espectacular Lunch

When we finish visiting the cheese farm, our hosts will prepare us the traditional suckling lamb in a beautiful txoko (Basque dinning room) with stunning views to the green rolling mountains. The baby sheep that are not good for cheese making are then naturally selected to serve as one of the finest Northern Spain delicatessen, the cordero asado or suckling lamb. 

 

All lunch will be served with home-made products: starters, the lamb and dessert. All of it accompanied with wine, cider and coffee.
