What To Expect
MARQUES DE RISCAL WINERY
We will start our Architectural Rioja Tour from Bilbao with a guided visit of the Marques de Riscal winery designed by one of todays leading architects, Frank Gehry. (Also famed for the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao).
The winery is set in Eltziego (Rioja Alavesa) and is one of the oldest wineries of the region. An incredible beautiful building built with stainless steel, wood and sandstone.
What to expect:

Guided winery visit (including the visit to the vineyards)

Taste three of their most representative wines: their famous white wine and two red wines: a crianza and their award winning Rioja Reserva (minimum of three years ageing).
VISIT YSIOS WINERY and a smaller boutique winery
We will then head to the iconic Ysios Winery, designed by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava. This striking building is one of the architectural landmarks of the Rioja region, with its undulating roofline inspired by the silhouette of the Sierra Cantabria mountains. You will have time to admire the winery from both the outside and inside, making it a perfect stop for photography.
While enjoying the spectacular surroundings, you will taste one of Ysios' flagship wines, allowing you to experience both the contemporary architecture and the modern style of Rioja that the winery has become famous for.
Finally, we will visit the small boutique winery Javier San Pedro, where you will enjoy a guided tasting of four additional wines, thoughtfully paired with a selection of local light bites. This intimate visit provides the perfect contrast to Ysios, giving you a complete 360° perspective of the Rioja wine region, from its world-famous architectural wineries to its family-run producers, and from modern winemaking to traditional vineyard-focused wines.

VISIT LAGUARDIA
We will head to Laguardia for a walk through the beautiful walled, medieval city of LaGuardia, with its underground cellars and wineries. Laguardia is both an architectural marvel and one of the most beautiful towns in the Rioja Alavesa region, if not all of Spain.
What to expect:
