With a professional chef, you will learn how to make pintxos – the famous ‘tapas’ of Northern Spain. This experience will take place at our HQ (Casa de Montaña) – a beautiful traditional Basque stone villa, set in a stunning mountainous landscape.

INTRODUCTION TO NORTHERN SPANISH GASTRONOMY
In our traditional Basque villa, we'll give you an introduction to the gastronomic traditions of Northern Spain, with a focus on pintxos - the tapas of the north.
The key to making great pintxos is the choice and quality of ingredients. During our Bilbao private cooking class, we will only use seasonal ingredients, depending on what’s available from local producers, or our own vegetable garden, where you can even pick the vegetables yourself.

PREPARING THE PINTXOS
Our Bilbao private cooking class will take place in our large country kitchen, where we'll enjoy a back-drop of chill-out music and relaxing mountain views.
Whilst we cook, we will let the wine flow, enjoying some of the best Spanish cavas, albariños, txakolis and riojas as we go.
Combining the finest ingredients from the land, sea and farms, we will prepare traditional and sophisticated pintxos. With our expert guidance, you will find these pintxos relatively easy to prepare.
What to Expect:
Open Bar: Rioja (red wine) and Verdejo (white wine)
Cook 4-5 pintxos with local ingredients
Reduced groups: maximum 6 people
VISIT CASTRO URDIALES
To burn off a few calories after our Bilbao private cooking class, we will take a short tour around the charming fisherman’s town of Castro Urdiales, located on the border of Cantabria and Basque Country, just 25 minutes’ drive from Bilbao.
We'll stop along the way for a coffee, wine or non-alcoholic drink in a small little bar overlooking the port, before heading back to Bilbao.
What to Expect:
Walk around this gothic fisherman village
Eat rabas (the traditional fried calamaris of Basque Country) and drink a local alcoholic drink overlooking the port
